PROPOSED LAND USE AND ZONING DESIGNATIONS
LEA HILL AND WEST HILL ANNEXATION AREAS

With the voters’ decision in favor of annexation for the Lea Hill and West Hill areas, the City has updated the adopted land use plan and also established zoning designations. The two annexation areas were previously zoned by King County and with the passage of the annexation City of Auburn zoning designations have been adopted.

This process involved a review of the land use designations in the City of Auburn Comprehensive Plan for Lea Hill and West Hill. The process included opportunities for public review and testimony on amendments to the Comprehensive Plan land use map and adoption of City zoning. The Auburn Planning Commission held a public hearing and took testimony on the proposed land use changes for Lea Hill and considered testimony on other changes the public suggested for Lea Hill and West Hill. The Planning Commission made a recommendation to the Auburn City Council who makes the final decision. The Auburn City Council held two public hearings on the proposed zoning for Lea Hill and West Hill with a final decision issued in December 2007.
