Notice Of Public Hearing and of 30-Day Comment Period on proposed 2013 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan

Notice is hereby given that the Auburn City Council will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 15, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 25 West Main St., Auburn about the proposed 2013 Annual Action Plan for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects.

The 2013 Annual Action Plan outlines proposed expenditures to implement the City’s efforts related to its CDBG projects. It identifies federal and local funds expected to be available, indicates the activities on which they will be spent, and sets goals for the number and type of services expected to be provided.

The preparation of an annual action plan is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order for the City to receive federal funds under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The City of Auburn anticipates that in 2013 approximately $450,000 of CDBG funds will be available for projects that are consistent with federal regulations and the objectives and policies of the Auburn Consolidated Housing and Community Development Plan.

The City of Auburn's 2013 Annual Action Plan is available for a 30-day public review and comment period. Oral comments may be offered at the public hearing on Oct. 15. Written comments regarding the 2013 Annual Action Plan may be submitted to:

Michael Hursh, Community Services Manager
25 W Main St.
Auburn, WA 98001

The deadline for the consideration of written comments is Oct. 30, 2012. Written comments and comments from the public hearing will be addressed in the final draft of the Annual Action Plan. The City Council is tentatively scheduled to adopt the 2013 Annual Action Plan at their regular meeting on Nov. 5.
