Classical Connoisseur: Wine and Music Tasting Event at Auburn Golf Course April 5

ClassicalConnoisseurTalking about music can be as hard as discussing wine, and yet many of the same words are used to describe both. Balance, harmony, complexity are inextricably intertwined and crucial elements in both music and wine. Kim Diehnelt, music director of the Northwest Symphony Orchestra in Chicago, will be joined by members of the Auburn Symphony Orchestra to delight the senses for Classical Connoisseur: Pairing of Music and Wine on Saturday, April 5, at 7:00 p.m. Taking place in the beautiful Auburn Golf Course banquet room, this limited seat event will be a guided tour pairing four 4-ounce tastes paired alongside classical music.

Pacific Northwest wines including Giffort Hirlinger (Walla Walla), Goose Ridge Estate Vineyard (Columbia Valley), Canoe Ridge Vineyard (Walla Walla), and Rainstorm (Umpqua Valley) will be enjoyed, while music by Auburn Symphony Orchestra’s talented Dan Williams (oboe), Rachael Pearson (violin), Betty Agent (viola), and Brian Wharton (cello) will fill the room. Kim Diehnelt as the conductor of the event will bring these two worlds together in an all-encompassing experience.

Kim Diehnelt the wine/music tour guide for the evening will provide the structure of the evening and discussion of both the wine and music drawing parallels and identifying differences. Kim Diehnelt established her craft as conductor, composer, and artistic coach in Finland and Switzerland and is currently the Music Director of the Northwest Symphony Orchestra in Chicago and regularly presents the Classical Connoisseur, a wine tasting approach to music.

Come experience music and wine at the Auburn Golf Course Banquet Room on Saturday, April 5 at 7 p.m.. Tickets: $35. This is a 21 and over event.
