Auburn’s Clean Sweep is just a few weeks away and you’re invited to volunteer for this fun, annual event scheduled for Saturday, May 4.
This community-wide volunteer effort will focus on major clean-up and beautification efforts in different areas around the City. Volunteer groups will work on light clean-up and maintenance; landscaping, weeding and planting in and around downtown and at various park sites; and a handful of other projects as needed.
Service clubs, social service agencies, faith-based groups, scouting troops, businesses, and individuals are being asked to come together and work on these beautification projects. The City will provide breakfast, instruction sheets for projects at each location, materials as needed for each project, and garbage bags.
The morning agenda for Saturday, May 4 is as follows:
- 7:30 a.m. - Check in at City Hall & Breakfast prepared by Kiwanis Club of Auburn
- 8:15 a.m. - Welcome and Project Instructions
- 8:30 a.m. - Ceremonial Sweep along Main Street sidewalks
- 8:45 a.m. - Teams go to Project locations
We encourage you to wear clothing that identifies your group or bring a sign identifying your group to put out next to you while volunteering on your project.
We encourage you to register on-line via the City’s website or you may also download registration information and return the from by mail or fax.
