Auburn Welcomes Coastal Farm and Ranch to its Array of Businesses

AUBURN, Wash. – June 11, 2012 – Auburn officials joined representatives of Coastal Farm and Ranch at the grand opening of its new Auburn retail store last week at the store's 124,000 square foot building located at 1425 SuperMall Way. Coastal Farm and Ranch is a Northwest owned and operated company that operates 11 stores in Washington and Oregon. The company has been in business since 1963 and employs over 400 people.

Coastal Farm and Ranch carries more than 50,000 products and offers a large indoor yard, allowing customers to shop for fencing, livestock, equipment, lawn and garden supplies regardless of weather conditions. Approximately one-third of the new Auburn store is dedicated to clothing, with another third being a combination of hardware, tools, welding and automotive, and the balance is animal health, farm equipment, tack, feed and supplements. Coastal has hired 40 new employees to work at its new Auburn store.

“On behalf of the City Council and citizens of Auburn, I want to officially welcome Coastal Farm and Ranch to the Auburn community.” said Mayor Pete Lewis. “Coastal’s diverse products and services will benefit Auburn residents and visitors and will generate new sales tax revenue for the city.

The new business replaces the site formerly occupied by Wal-Mart after Wal-Mart opened a 220,000 square foot Supercenter and vacated its original building and site. The City of Auburn together with Wal-Mart representatives worked diligently to refill this space and successfully recruited Coastal Farm and Ranch to occupy the site.
