Auburn's Shop with a Cop Holiday Tradition to be Held Dec. 8

One child from each Auburn school to participate

The Auburn Police Officers Association (APOA) is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Shop with a Cop Event on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. One child from each of the 22 schools in the Auburn School District was chosen by their school to participate in this year's Shop with a Cop event.

Twenty two kids will be given $100 each to spend on themselves and their family during the shopping spree to take place at the Auburn Walmart, located at 762 Supermall Way SW. Each child will be accompanied by an Auburn police officer. Afterward they'll have lunch at a local Subway.

Funds for the event were provided by the APOA, a non-profit organization which raised $1,200 in donations from personnel at the Auburn Police Department. Walmart contributed $1,000 in support of the event. Subway donated the lunch certificates. The APOA would like to publicly thank the two businesses for giving to this event and also to the members of the Auburn Police Department for their generous donations.

Distributed in the public interest on behalf of the Auburn Police Officers Association.
