Auburn to Host 6th Annual Disaster Fair September 16

AUBURN, Wash. - September 10, 2012 - The City of Auburn Emergency Management Office is promoting National Disaster Preparedness month by hosting Auburn's 6th Annual Disaster Fair on Sunday, Sept. 16 from 10 AM - 3 PM at the new Plaza Park in downtown Auburn located at Main Street and Division Street. This is a fun-filled event for the whole family, featuring disaster preparedness information, ideas, demonstrations, and supplies.

There will be events and activities for everyone, including informational booths, vendor booths, disaster response demonstrations, hands-on activities for kids and adults, and preparedness information. Tours of the City’s Emergency Operations Center will be available and door prizes will be given away hourly.

Exhibitors scheduled to attend include: 

  • Valley Regional Fire Authority 
  • Auburn Regional Medical Center 
  • Sam’s Club 
  • The Ready Pantry 
  • Quake-Ready Kit Co 
  • Auburn Police Department 
  • Washington State Animal Response Team 
  • King County 911 
  • Preppers Warehouse 
  • White River Valley Citizen Corps Council 
  • Muckleshoot Indian Tribe 
  • Washington State Emergency Management Division

The tentative schedule for disaster response demonstrations is: 11:15 AM, 12:15 PM, 1:15 PM and 2:15 PM.
