Half million dollar grant awarded to improve guardrails in Auburn

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has awarded a $502,275 grant to the City of Auburn to fund citywide guardrail improvements. The grant from WSDOT’s 2013 Quick Response Safety Program will fund guardrail installation at the following locations:

  • Green River Road SE along the west side of the road between the Auburn city limit to the north and 104th Avenue SE/SE 304th Way.
  • R Street SE/Kersey Way SE along both sides of the road between the White River Bridge and 57th Street SE.
  • Mountain View Drive SW along the south side of the road between West Valley Hwy and 56th Avenue S.

The funds will help to advance planned public safety improvements in the city's roadway system. Advertisement for construction of the project will take place in Oct. 13.
