A Busy Holiday Season In Auburn, Highlighted With Santa Parade

Santa BreakfastThe City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation announces this year’s holiday line-up with a wide range of activities perfect for the holiday season. The Auburn festivities kick off on Saturday, Dec. 7, with a Snack & Craft activity, The Not-Its! Rockin’ Holiday and the annual Santa Parade, held on Main Street at 4:30 p.m. Community caroling and the annual Tree Lighting follow the parade.

For those that want to join in the parade, report to the parade line-up area (E Street NE and Main Street) at 4 p.m. No registration is required. Participants are encouraged to review the parade rules and regulations, which can be found at www.auburnwa.gov/events. The Auburn Elites from Pioneer Elementary will provide parade spectators with a pre-parade treat – filling Main Street in front of City Hall with exciting entertainment.

Santa will make a special visit to the Indoor Playground at the gymnasium at Les Gove Park the week of Dec. 9. He’ll visit the Playground  on Monday, Dec. 9, Wednesday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 13 from 9:30-11 a.m each day.

Holiday Snack & Craft
Saturday, Dec. 7 | 2-4 p.m. | Washington Elementary, 20 E St NE

Participants can join the Parks Staff in creating holiday gingerbread houses and ornaments. It’s a warm way to ring in the holidays and something yummy to fill your belly before the parade! The pre-registration fee is $3 for residents and $4 for non-residents. Registration at the door is $5. So staff can be properly prepared, it is recommended to pre-register prior to attending.

The Not-Its! Rockin’ Holiday
Saturday, Dec. 7 | 2 p.m. | The Auburn Ave Theater, 10 Auburn Avenue

The Ave will be rockin’ prior to the parade! Come dance the winter chill away with this kid-friendly rock band.  Bring the whole family down for their high energy tunes and dance ballads. Tickets are $8.  Advance tickets available at the Parks Office, on-line at www.auburnwa.gov/arts or get your tickets on the day of the event at the theater box office, starting at 1 p.m.

Santa Parade & Tree Lighting
Saturday, Dec. 7 | 4:30 p.m. | Downtown Auburn

A festive and fun children's parade, which is followed by community caroling and the lighting of the City Hall Christmas Tree.

Red, White & Blue Holiday Concert
Sunday, Dec. 8 | 2 p.m. | Auburn Performing Arts Center, 206 E St NE

The always popular free holiday concert with the 133D Washington Army National Guard will perform holiday classics and all the favorites of the season. Tickets are free, but required and can be picked up in advance at the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Office located at 910 Ninth St. SE.

Late Play Date at The White River Valley Museum
Thursday, Dec.12 | 6-8 p.m. | White River Valley Museum, 918 H St. SE

Enjoy a fun, holiday-themed late night play date. This free program is perfect for kids age 3-12 – they’ll especially love the cookie decorating station!  The late night play date is a drop-in program and no registration is required. 

Holiday Tea at The White River Valley Museum
Saturday, Dec. 14, | 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. | White River Valley Museum, 918 H St. SE

An Inspirational Christmas with Elvis
Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14 | 7:30 p.m. | Auburn Avenue Theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

From the many years of admiration of Elvis, Danny Vernon has created a show that holds the excitement of the King on stage throughout various stages in his career. Tickets $20/$18.

Breakfast with Santa
Saturday, Dec. 14 | 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. | Auburn Senior Activity Center, 808 Ninth St. SE

Every child’s favorite breakfast event hosted by the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation. The event features a special breakfast served by Santa’s elves, musical entertainment and a special visit from Santa. Cost is $5 for residents of Auburn and $7 for those living outside the city ($6/$8 for adults). Pre-registration is required for the Breakfast with Santa event. Event fills up quickly so early reservations are recommended.

Christmas with the Gothard Sisters
Sunday, Dec. 15 | 2 p.m. | Auburn Avenue Theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Enjoy this popular Celtic trio – who really are sisters!  Tickets are available at the Parks Office, online at www.auburnwa.gov/arts or at the box office one-hour prior to the show.
