Apply Now for King County 2012 Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention & Recycling Program

KING COUNTY - May 23, 2012 - King County has launched its sixth annual Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention & Recycling Program, recognizing local businesses with exceptional programs for waste prevention and recycling. Businesses can apply online at: http://your.kingcounty.gov/solidwaste/garbage-recycling/apply-best-workplaces.asp.The deadline to apply is June 29, 2012.

King County has reorganized the application criteria by types of workspaces (e.g. copy rooms and/or cubicles) and have added some new criteria, including one on zero waste that links to resources on the topic: http://your.kingcounty.gov/solidwaste/garbage-recycling/best-workplaces-zero-waste.asp.

Recognition: King County will announce the 2012 Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling list and promote it to local media in mid-July. Businesses will be listed in a congratulatory advertisement in the Puget Sound Business Journal, listed in a press release, and promoted on the Recycle More. It’s Easy to Do. In addition, businesses will have their case studies posted on the King County website. This has proven to be a successful recognition program for businesses in King County. Last year’s list included 89 companies who are leading the way in reducing, reusing and recycling all types of waste.
