The Auburn Parks, Arts
& Recreation Department, along with series sponsor, CHI Franciscan Health,
is excited to announce the rockin’ Kids Summerstage 2015 line-up. The
combination of entertainment and available park activities will ensure these
noon concerts are a real treat for all attendees.
The series is held at Les Gove Park, 910 Ninth Street
SE on Wednesdays at noon, beginning on July 8 and ending on August
12. The six-week series will be held adjacent to the
Discovery Playground. Attendees are encouraged to pack a
picnic lunch, suits and towels for Rotary Spray Park, and spend the afternoon in
beautiful Les Gove Park!
July 8 – Brian
Vogan & His Good Buddies
Brian Vogan and his fabulous six-piece band, the Good
Buddies, plays music for the whole family to enjoy! The group
recently released a new album and will be playing new songs along with their old
favorites.
July 15 – Louie
Foxx’s One Man Side Show
Astounding
magic tricks, side-splitting comedy, hilarious cowboy tricks, eye popping hand
shadows and audience interaction will guarantee enjoyment. Louie is a two-time
Guinness World Record Holder and performed on ‘America’s Got
Talent’. Great for all ages!
July 22 –
Recess Monkey
A
trio of Seattle teachers that will entertain with their irresistibly catchy
music. This hour will be jam-packed with singable, danceable
‘kindie’ songs that parents enjoy as much as their kids.
July 29 –
Reptile Isle
Always
a hit with kids, Reptile Isle intrigues and educates his audience and provides a
hands-on component at the end of the show.
August 5 – The
Harmonica Pocket
A
highly entertaining and interactive performance that gets kids (and the adults
who bring them!), dancing in their seats! The Harmonica
Pocket mixes up dance, music and imaginative games for a hilariously enjoyable
time.
August 12 –
Linda Severt’s Juggletunes
A unique and entertaining performance featuring music
expertly played on a variety of instruments including guitar, ukulele,
concertina, junk drum set and even bicycle horns. In addition to original music,
Linda weaves juggling, puppetry and hilarious physical comedy into her
show. Lots of laughs!
And if
entertainment wasn’t enough, an ArtRageous hands-on art component will be
offered each week – free of charge. Participants will get the
opportunity to learn various art techniques from professional
artists. All craft projects are offered from 11:00am –
2:00pm. Sample activities include a collage on contact paper
with Sean Chandler and marbleized paper with artist Mary Ellen
Bowers.
