Auburn Parks Preparing For Annual KidsDay Event, To Be Held On Friday, June 22

AUBURN, Wash. – May 31, 2012 - Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation is gearing up for their annual KidsDay event, to be held at Les Gove Park, 1005 12th Street SE on Friday, June 22. In Auburn, summer doesn't start until the kids say it does, so celebrate Auburn's official start to summer with our city's youngsters at the free, family-friendly event!

The event, held from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., features ten inflatable rides, children’s activities, live stage entertainment, mini golf, kids’ arts & craft booths, food concessions, over 80 information/activity vendors, a food court and much more. Back again are the popular electric go-karts, free face painting and a heavy equipment/vehicle display! It’s a fantastic day of free, fun-filled activities sure to keep any child entertained. KidsDay’s primary audience is kids ages 3-10 years of age, however there are lots of activity and entertainment options to keep both our younger and older counterparts amused.

This year’s event has an exciting line-up of stage entertainment, kicked off with America’s most rockin’ kindie band, The Not-Its!, followed by The Brian Waite Band, Radio Disney’s Rockin’ Road Show and more! The Brian Waite Band is presented by the King County Library System at 12:15pm.

Auburn’s KidsDay began in 1985 and has increased in popularity ever since. New entertainment and activities are added every year. The event will be held at Les Gove Park, which features the popular Discovery Playground, a spraypark, bocce courts and many more attractions. Parking is available in and around the park, with overflow parking at Grace Community Church and street parking surrounding the park.

Auburn’s KidsDay 2012 is coordinated by the City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation, with help from Fred Meyer Stores, Seattle Children’s, Valley Medical Center, BECU and MultiCare.
