Kids DayAuburn Parks, Arts & Recreation is gearing up for its annual KidsDay event, to be held at Les Gove Park located at 1005 12th St. SE on Friday, June 21.

The event, held from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., features a variety of inflatable rides, children’s activities, live stage entertainment, mini golf, kids’ arts & craft booths, food concessions, over 80 information/activity vendors, a food court and much more. Back again are the popular electric go-karts, free face painting and a heavy equipment/vehicle display. It’s a fantastic day of free, fun-filled activities sure to keep any child entertained. KidsDay’s primary audience is children ages 3-10 years of age; however there are lots of activity and entertainment options to keep both our younger and older counterparts amused.

This year’s event has an exciting line-up of stage entertainment, kicked off with Brian Vogan and his Good Buddies and followed by Eric Herman’s Cool Tunes for Kids, Radio Disney’s Rockin’ Road Show and more. Eric Herman’s performance is presented by the King County Library System at 12:15 p.m.

Auburn’s KidsDay began in 1985 and has increased in popularity ever since. New entertainment and activities are added every year. The event will be held at Les Gove Park, which features the popular Discovery Playground, a spraypark, bocce courts and many more attractions.

Parking is available in and around the park, with overflow parking at Grace Community Church and street parking surrounding the park. New to the 2013 festival is a DARE Expo, which will feature a variety of police vehicles, equipment, activities and personnel. KidsDay will also bring an exciting new art component which invites attendees to work alongside professional artists to create their own masterpieces to take home. Featured artists are Nicole Appell, offering Mixed Media Art Dolls and Amaranta Ibarra making Clay Creatures.

Auburn’s KidsDay 2013 is coordinated by the City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation, with help from Fred Meyer Stores, Valley Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Federal Way Clinic and MultiCare Auburn Medical Center. Media support courtesy of Radio Disney AM 1250.
