Mountain View Cemetery's Marker Clean-up Day is May 11

Mountain View Cemetery EntranceMountain View Cemetery's annual Marker Clean-up Day is Saturday, May 11 from 9 am. to 1 p.m. Families are invited to care and clean their markers. Markers are considered private property and normal care and maintenance is the responsibility of the respective family.

"Cemetery staff will be on hand if families need any help," said Craig Hudson, Cemetery Manager. "We also have some basic tools available by request."

This yearly clean-up opportunity is scheduled to coincide with Mother's Day and the annual Memorial Day of Remembrance, which will be held on May 27 at 10 a.m.

"It's also a great day to come tour the cemetery," said Hudson. "Our staff takes great pride in keeping the grounds beautiful."

Mountain View Cemetery is a self-supporting municipal cemetery operated by the City of Auburn. Located on 60 gently sloping acres with sweeping and stunning views of the Cascade Mountains and Mt. Rainier, the cemetery has been serving the community for over 100 years. The profit from purchases at the cemetery go directly into the care, maintenance and improvement of the cemetery.
