Nominations Now Being Accepted for 2014 Queen of Auburn Days

2014 Pioneer QueenOrganizations and individuals are invited to submit nominations for this year’s Queen of Auburn Days. The role of the Auburn Days Queen is to promote the festival and Auburn by riding in area parades this summer and to reign over the Aug. 8-10 event. Candidates must be 75 years of age or older, live in the Auburn community and have contributed their time for the betterment of the community. Nomination deadline is May 30.

Download a nomination form now (PDF) to submit your candidate. Forms are also available at the Auburn Senior Activity Center located at 808 Ninth St. SE; the Parks, Arts, & Recreation Administration building, 910 Ninth St. SE; and on City of Auburn website at www.auburnwa.gov/seniors.

The queen will be crowned at the Auburn Days Royal Celebration at the Auburn Senior Activity Center on June 19 at 6:30 p.m.

The Auburn Days Festival is a second generation event that started with a parade and has now grown into a popular festival. The festival is a hometown community event that seeks to share Auburn’s history and bring together families, neighbors and friends together for a weekend full of activities and entertainment. There will be sporting events, children’s activities, a carnival, juried and youth art shows, a car show, displays, vendors and a parade on Auburn’s Main Street.
