Soundbites Energizes Downtown Auburn during Lunchtime on Fridays in July

AUBURN, Wash. – June 19, 2012 – The City of Auburn and Auburn Regional Medical Center have partnered to offer an exciting new concert series, Soundbites. This new series will be offered on Fridays in July, from noon – 1:30pm at the City Hall Plaza.

“We are thankful that the Auburn Regional Medical Center has come forward to support this outstanding new entertainment series for our citizens,” says Parks, Arts & Recreation Director, Daryl Faber.

“Outdoor concerts are always a popular entertainment option and we enjoy providing them to our community,” explains Faber. “It gives Auburn residents the opportunity to meet their friends and neighbors for an unforgettable experience. This particular series will be a wonderful way to engage the working community.”

Soundbites, presented by Auburn Regional Medical Center, kicks off at the City Hall Plaza on Friday, July 6 with entertainment provided by Global Heat. With a sound like The Roots and Common, Global Heat was the winner of the 2011 Jammin’ Challenge. Global Heat will bring the best of Hip Hop, Cool Jazz, R&B and World Beat and specialize in entertaining break dancing. The series is also supported by The Auburn Downtown Association.

The entire Soundbites line-up of outdoor entertainment is as follows: 

  • Friday, July 6 – Global Heat (Cool Jazz, R&B & World Beat) 
  • Friday, July 13 – Hook Me Up (Contemporary Jazz) 
  • Friday, July 20 – Wally and the Beavs (50’s & 60’s Rock & Roll) 
  • Friday, July 27 – BB and the Riptides (Surf Party Classics)

Girl Dog, Inc. will be on-site selling hotdogs at Plaza Park, and the following downtown restaurants are offering a Friday “Soundbites Lunch Special” with a “to-go” option so individuals can catch the outdoor entertainment: 

  • OddFellas Pub & Eatery, 102 W. Main St 
  • The DownEast Baking Co., 419 E Main St. 
  • The Rainbow Café, 112 E. Main St. 
  • The Station Bistro, 110 2nd ST SW #125 
  • Zola’s Café, 402 East Main St.
