Space Still Available for Free Hands-On Fire Extinguisher Training July 17 in Auburn

If you have wondered what you would do if faced with a small fire in your home or business, now is your chance to learn. The Valley Regional Fire Authority is offering free hands-on fire extinguisher training on July 17. Training sessions are open to Algona, Auburn and Pacific businesses and residents.

Spaces are still available for hour-long training sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17. Training will be held at Headquarters Fire Station 31, located at 1101 D St. NE in Auburn.

Participants will learn how to select and properly maintain a portable fire extinguisher, as well as how to extinguish small fires safely. A live fire demonstration will give students the opportunity for hands-on practice with a fire extinguisher.
