Solid Waste Hauler to Change for the Holt/Cobble Creek Area on January 1, 2013

The City of Auburn’s contracted solid waste hauler, Waste Management will assume collection and disposal of solid waste on January 1, 2013, in Holt/Cobble Creek area that was annexed in 2005 via Ordinance #5516. View a map of the annexation area.

At the time this area was annexed into the City of Auburn, Allied Waste Services had a G-Certificate to operate in the area. The law provides that existing franchises are in force for a period of at least seven years following annexation. The franchise period has expired and Allied Waste Services will discontinue service on Jan. 1, 2013.

Residents in this area will be billed by the City of Auburn for solid waste services effective Jan. 1, 2013. Residents in this area will now have recycle collection at no additional cost, weekly compostables (yard waste, food + food-soiled paper) collection with subscription, and monthly billing.
