Gift Program

Many times the City is asked how individuals, service clubs and organizations can contribute to the quality of life in Auburn. Citizens can help improve the community for now and for years to come! Plaques are available to dedicate your donation to an honored colleague, friend or loved one.

There are many opportunities to volunteer, sponsor a program or event, or donate a lasting gift or memorial that can be enjoyed by the community for many years to come. To donate to any of these funds, contact Community Services at 253-931-3099.

Did You Know?

Meals on Wheels delivery drivers are all volunteers.
Local churches are working together to rehabilitate Cedar Lanes Park.
20% of the Senior Center expansion was paid for with private funds.
10% of the picnic tables and park benches in our city were donated.
The playground at the new Sunset Park was installed by a young Boy Scout, with the help of fellow Scouts, family and friends, for his Eagle project.
The land for Sunset Park was donated by the developers specifically for use as a park.
The skateboard park at Brannan Park was partially built with donations.
The Clean Sweep group participation rate doubled in one year.
The Rotary Spray Park was built with donated funds from the Auburn Rotary.

Seasonal plants: Brighten up the courtyards in the parks with beautiful flowers, plants and hanging baskets throughout the year.	starting at $45
Place of interest signs: Keep Auburn's rich history alive! Put up an interpretive or educational sign that tells the story about a local landmark, area or person.	starting at $200
Pet litter container station: Did Mom or Dad love walking their dog in the neighborhood or a local park?	$350

Community trees: Beautify our city, provide shade and help the environment by purchasing trees in the parks and street right-of-ways.	$500
Place a bench in your favorite park or along a favorite street: Parents, grandparents and friends will enjoy relaxing on the benches placed in parks and throughout the city by your contribution	starting at $750

K-9 program sponsor: Assist in supporting your Auburn Police K-9 Unit.	monthly donation
Bicycle and multi-sport helmets: Assist in providing helmets for firefighters to fit on low-income children in the Auburn community.	$10/helmet
Senior fall injury prevention items: Purchase bath mats, tread tape, night lights, grab bars, shower benches and other items to decrease the chance of fall-related injury or death in the home of a low-income senior citizen.	starting at $25
Stop Sticks: Help fight crime and increase safety by purchasing "Stop Sticks" to help officers end police pursuits safely.	$250/set
Provide portable event canopies: For Police and public education efforts, including DARE and fire safety programs	$1,500

Artisans at work: Sponsor artists in the schools.	starting at $500

BRAVO and BRAVO Kids: Sponsor a music performance, a children's music performance or assist in the printing and promotion of the BRAVO series.	$1,000 - Co-sponsor starting at $2,500 - Sponsor entire performance

Places to Play...

Adult and youth program scholarship: Provide a program opportunity to a disadvantaged youth or adult through a paid scholarship for camp, teen adventure, arts or sports program. The scholarship fund is administered through the Parks and Recreation Department and supports youth, adults and the disabled in need.	$100
Put in a bike rack: Bicyclists of all ages will enjoy these "bike-shaped" racks throughout the park system.	$350
Install picnic tables and pads: Families and friends will enjoy the park tables placed on concrete pads to add to the picnicking pleasure in the parks.	$950
Add a scoreboard or readerboard: Your contribution to purchase a scoreboard will enhance the viewing pleasure of the crowd in the park while watching the games.	$7,500
Install picnic shelters: Help sponsor a picnic shelter for families to enjoy at the park.	starting at $12,000

Holiday Baskets: Sponsor holiday baskets filled with greenery, glitter boxes and bows to beautify the street poles along Main Street during the holiday season.	starting at $35
Holiday Tree Ornaments: Beautiful tree ornaments, bells, bows and candy canes can be purchased by your contribution for the Holiday Tree at City Hall.	starting at $100
Lighted holiday pole decorations: Beautiful illuminated decorations can be purchased by your contribution for the street poles along Main Street.	starting at $350
City banners: Welcome residents and visitors to our city with colorful seasonal street banners (includes banner, hanging bracket and installation).	starting at $500
Seasonal decorations for park sites: Brighten up the parks with lights and seasonal decorations throughout the year.	starting at $500
4th of July celebration: Sponsor a music performance, a children's stage entertainer, wandering entertainer in the park, children's arts activities, or the children's parade during Auburn's Fourth of July Festival to enhance the enjoyment of all.	starting at $1,000
City gateway parks: Sponsor a beautiful entryway to our community; includes plants, flowers, shrubs, materials and labor.	$25,000 - $35,000

Donate a scanner: Contribute funds to purchase a scanner for Museum staff to document archival materials, pictures and expand on services to the public.	$500
Provide a portable event canopy: The White River Valley Museum needs a portable canopy for special events	$1,500

Growing Youth...

Sports equipment: Provide equipment for youth sports programs while helping keep fees affordable for children.	$100
Sponsor a youth sports league: Sponsor a youth sports team for baseball, fastpitch, t-ball, track, cub clinic, volleyball, flag football or soccer programs.	$180
Golf team scholarship: Provide a program opportunity for disabled athletes to participate and learn the sport of golf.	$250
