Hometown Hero AwardsThe Hometown Hero Program started with the idea that the City wanted to officially recognize its citizens that contribute to our community in an above and beyond manner. The Hometown Hero has honored citizens since 1999 with this prestigious recognition.
The criteria/traits for the award are:
- Nominee must reside, work or live in Auburn
- Nominee can be of any age
- Nominee shall have contributed to the Auburn community
- Traits of the Hometown Hero are:
- A person whose dedication and ingenuity deserve special recognition
- Their contribution may be beyond the call of duty or job requirement
- May have achieved a regional, state or national recognition
- Service to others is a priority in their life
- Longevity of service to the community
