Bill PelozaBill Peloza was re-elected to serve on the Auburn City Council for a term beginning January 2008 through December 31, 2011 - this is his second consecutive term. Peloza is Vice Chair of the Municipal Services Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. In addition, he serves on the following Regional Committees: National League of Cities; Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources Steering Committee; King County Regional Water Quality Committee (RWQC) and Vice Chair of the Suburban Cities Association RWQC Caucus; King County Metropolitan Solid Waste Advisory Committee; King County Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement Advisory Committee and King County Green/Duwamish & Central Puget Sound Watershed (WRIA 9) Management, Forum and Steering (Co-Chair) Committees and was a member of the LEOFF Board. Peloza attended the University of Washington School of Business and UCLA, specializing in Government Contract Management. He retired from The Boeing Company in 1995 after 38 years of service, where he was a Contracts Manager with emphasis in finance/budgets, cost and schedule performances and contract negotiations. He is active in the following organizations: member of the Auburn Rotary Club; member of the Auburn Sons of Italy Lodge #1955; member of the Auburn Elks Lodge #1808 and member and trustee of VFW Post No. 1741. Peloza has also served as Chairman of the Auburn Airport Advisory Board; member of the White River Valley Museum Board of Directors; ACAP Board of Directors; member of the Auburn Symphony Association and President of the Boeing Management Association (retirees). In addition, he has served as President of the Green River Men's Golf Club; President of the Auburn Soccer Club; Commissioner of the South King County Soccer Referees Association; Junior Achievement Advisory Member & Instructor; Chinook Elementary School PTA Membership Chair and President of the Des Moines Jaycees. Peloza is a Washington native, a U.S. Navy veteran (Korean conflict) and a member of Holy Family Church. He and his wife Joyce live on Lea Hill in Auburn.
