Sue SingerSue Singer was elected to the Auburn City Council in 1995 and is currently serving her fourth term. Her current council committee assignments are Finance, Downtown Re-development and the Community Center Committee. Singer was elected by the City Council to serve as Mayor Pro Tem, to take the Mayor’s place when he is unavailable. In addition, she serves as President of the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC), which does long range planning for transportation, growth management and economic development in the four county region. She has served on the governing board of the PSRC for eight years as the delegate for suburban cities in King County, representing 750,000 people. Singer also serves as the chair of the Auburn Tourism Board, promoting Auburn as a tourist destination. While serving on the Auburn City Council, she has also represented Auburn citizens on the Lea Hill Annexation Task Force, the Auburn Downtown Master Plan Task Force, and the Pierce County Regional Council. She previously served on the Auburn Library Board, the Auburn Planning Commission, and the Mayor's Task Force on Teen Pregnancy Prevention. As owner of Singer Graphics, Sue designs political mailings and newsletters. She is a member and past president of Soroptimist International of Auburn. Her husband Lee is an Auburn Rotarian.
