The Council has four standing committees: Finance, Municipal Services, Planning and Community Development, and Public Works. The Committees' meeting schedules, Council membership, and functions are described below:
Council Committees
Finance Committee
Meets: First and third Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in Council Conference Room, located on the first floor of Auburn City Hall.
Function: Makes recommendations on policies relating to police and fire, jurisdiction over public buildings for their maintenance and construction (exclusive of utility buildings), emergency planning, cable TV, airport, golf course, cemetery, and city real property transactions.
Planning & Community Development Committee
Meets: Second and fourth Monday at 5 p.m. in Council Chambers, located on the first floor of Auburn City Hall.
Function: Makes recommendations on policies relating to land use planning, zoning, annexation, human services, parks and recreation, arts, museum, library, and senior center.
Public Works Committee
Meets: First and third Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, located on the first floor of Auburn City Hall.
Function: Makes recommendations on policies relating to water and sanitary sewer utilities, storm drainage, streets and policy matters involving construction, building inspection, engineering, and equipment maintenance and operations.
