Parks & RecreationThe City of Auburn's Parks, Arts and Recreation department is dedicated to creating a better community through people, parks and programs. It is our goal to provide services that positively impact the social, economic, health and environmental quality of our community. Our vision is to offer services that allow community members to experience physical, mental and social benefits through their leisure time participation. We provide opportunities for youth, teens, adults and senior citizens to live, grow and develop into healthy, contributing members of our community. Check out our 2009 Year in Review to discover how we contribute to a vibrant, healthy Auburn. Now is the perfect time to get active and visit Auburn's outstanding park system. With many spectacular views of Mount Rainier, Auburn has an extensive system of parks, open space and urban trails comprised of 28 developed parks, over 23 miles of trails (including Auburn's 4.5 mile portion of the Inter-urban Trail for bikers, walkers, runners and skaters), and almost 247 acres of open space for passive and active recreation.
