Auburn's Recreation Division provides opportunities for the public to participate in diverse recreational programs and activities designed to meet the needs of the community. These programs include preschool, youth, teen, and adult leisure programs; youth, teen, and adult athletics; fitness and wellness programs; programs designed to provide social and recreational opportunities to senior citizens and those with special needs, and a host of special events suitable for the entire family and community at large.

Note: There is no longer a fee for registering online. For information on setting up a new account, follow the link and click My Account, submit your information on-line and we'll create your account, or check out the tutorial (PDF) to learn how to register online. Regular fees for activities and classes still apply.

 

Do you have an idea for a new class?
Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation is constantly seeking ideas for new courses and new instructors. To suggest a program or class idea, or to inquire about teaching a class, please call 253-931-3043 or email Play at Auburn. Class Proposal Form (PDF).

Pre-School Programs

Includes arts & crafts, dance, music and Start Smart sport programs with parent participation.

Indoor Playground

Now Open - Indoor Playground at the new Gymnasium
Bring your child (ages 5 and under) indoors for socialization and fun. We provide balls, games, mats, riding toys, climbing toys and more. A great place to come and let your little one run and play. No registration required.

Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 9:30 AM -11:00 AM; Saturday from 9:00 AM-10:30 AM. The Gymnasium is located at 910 9th Street SE.

Fee $2 per child per session; $1 per additional child. Limit 3 children per caregiver.

Youth Programs

Youth dance, tumbling, cheerleading, gymnastics and a host of interesting and educational hands-on workshops are offered throughout the year. Summer time offers a variety of camp options.

  • Our affordable Around the Bell before-and-after school care program is open for all day kindergartners through fifth grades and serves several Auburn elementary schools in a central location and also includes transportation to and from schools.

Teen Programs

Are abundant in Auburn and provide opportunities for fun classes, guitar, cooking, group outings and even some family fun options. Summer time offers a variety of camps designed specifically for teens. Other options include:

  • Teen Late Night for teens in grade 6 through 12 are rotated from Auburn High School, Auburn Riverside High, and the YMCA.
  • Teen Council activities provide the opportunity for teens to lead, act, and connect with the Auburn community.

Adult Programs

You can choose to dance in style with swing, ballroom, salsa, county, and various other steps. Enjoy the physical and mental benefits of Tai Chi, Yoga, and Pilates. Participate in classes ranging from creative writing and watercolor to Spanish, wine education, and other types of continuing education. We also offer various sport leagues through the year, they allow you to get active and have fun in a group and team setting.

Senior Program

The senior programs are for ages 50+ and designed to enhance the quality of life of senior adults in our community through social, recreational, health and wellness, educational, and nutritional services and programs.
