Administrator and Staff Resources

Be a part of "greening" your school.

Custodial staff, kitchen staff, office administration staff and parent volunteers play an important role in the strength and effectiveness of a school recycling and waste prevention program. Getting involved in supporting the schools recycling programs and students is easy and fun.

Below you will find resources to help you get started and get involved. Please contact the Auburn School District Resource Conservation Manager (RCM) for questions on any existing program at your school or for help getting a new program started or any other waste prevention idea you have.

Start or Join A Green Team at your School

What is a Green Team?

A Green Team is a group that takes on a project to prevent waste at school, at home, or in the community. You can do any size project - from small to big or multiple projects!

How do I start a School Green Team?

There are many ways to start a Green Team. An easy and simple process is outlined on the Washington Green Schools (WAGS) website listed under program info. Every school is unique and your green team program will reflect that. Adjust the steps as you see fit. Don’t be afraid to make changes after you get started in order to get the most out of your program.

Tips:

Start small – one step at a time and build capacity when you can. Tie into classroom learning. Promote waste diversion and environmental benefits.
