The Court will request that the Department of Licensing (DOL) suspend your driving privileges for the following reasons:
Failure to pay fines and fees the day adjudicated or failing to adhere to the installment payment plan. Additional late fees of $52 will be imposed. If the balance is not paid in full, your case will be referred to collections with additional fees added.
Failure to comply with community service or a class. If you chose to do community service in lieu of paying a fine, you must provide proof of completion to the Court by the deadline.
Once the Court has requested that DOL suspend your privileges, the citation must be paid in full and there is an additional $52 fee per citation. When the matter is cleared with the Court, you will be given a "clearance form" to take to DMV to remove the hold on your license if you wish to get your license back immediately. The Court also adjudicates the suspension online with DOL. However, this takes approximately 48 hours. DOL charges an additional $50 to reinstate your license.
If a citation is in "suspended status" with the Court, you are not eligible for an installment payment plan. You may submit payments if you cannot afford to pay the full amount at one time. When the citation is paid in full, then the clearance will be provided.
