About the Region


The City of Auburn, Washington, lies in the center of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. It is located in King and Pierce Counties in Western Washington. The area is often referred to as the Green River Valley. Auburn was incorporated in 1891 and is one of the older communities in the State of Washington. The City has a total land area of 29.8 square miles. As of April 2015, the City's population was approximately 75,000 with approximately 9,000 residents in the Pierce County portion of the City.
