Environment - The City manages all reviews required under the State Environmental Policy Act. It also enforces the City Critical Areas ordinance that seeks to protect wetlands, watercourses, significant animal habitats, water quality, tree cover and steep slopes.
Shoreline Master Program Update: On May 20, 2009, the Washington State Department of Ecology approved the City of Auburn’s Shoreline Master Program update. The documents that were approved are located here.- SED Maps (PDF)

City Comprehensive Plan - The City maintains a Comprehensive Plan representing the City's development "blueprint" and establishing goals for the future. Annual updates to the plan are sent to City Council for adoption by December of each year.
- City Code - The City is responsible for ensuring that land use applications and permits are processed in a timely manner in accordance with State laws on regulatory reform, and for reporting compliance with those laws to the public.
