Lake Tapps Parkway - East Valley Highway to Lakeland Hills Way

Beginning July 17, 2017, work will begin on the Lake Tapps Preservation project that will replace the roadway surface on Lake Tapps Parkway from East Valley Highway to Lakeland Hills Way. The project will also construct accessibility improvements at the intersection of Lakeland Hills Way. Replacing the pavement surface now, before the roadway has completely failed to its foundation, prevents a costly full depth re-build in the future.

The initial construction activities will include removing and re-constructing sidewalks at the intersection, which will require re-routing of pedestrians. In early August, the work will shift to removing and replacing the existing roadway, which will require night work to minimize potential impacts to local businesses, vehicles, and pedestrians. Additional notices will be made as the construction work progresses.

Access to residences and businesses within the project area will be maintained, but delays should be expected. Please use caution and pay close attention to police officers, flaggers, and construction sign directions.
