City Plans

The City of Auburn maintains several plans related to disaster planning, response, recovery, and mitigation. These plans are intended to meet state and federal requirements and to be useful to both employees and citizens. The following plans are currently available on our website:

Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP)

Pursuant to Washington State law, the City has maintained a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) since 1985. The most current version was adopted by the Auburn City Council in December 2009.

Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP)

The City maintains a Hazard Mitigation Plan in order to guide decision-making regarding hazard mitigation projects and in order to remain eligible for Hazard Mitigation Grants. The City is currently a member of the King County Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan, which can be found on the King County website.

King County and member jurisdictions are currently revising this plan and welcome public comment on it. Please visit the King County Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan link to view the draft document.


King County Regional Disaster Plan (RDP)

The City of Auburn has been a participant in the King County Regional Disaster Plan (RDP) since the original working group formed in 1998, becoming a signatory to the initial plan in 2003. The City participates in the regular update process of this plan.
