Citations, Tickets and WarrantsCriminal Citations (Gold)If you receive a gold copy of a criminal citation from an Auburn police officer or in the mail, your appearance in court is mandatory. You have been charged with a crime. Failure to appear will result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. Bench Warrants or Failure to AppearIf you have a bench warrant or failed to appear for a court date, please contact the Court at 253-931-3076 for instructions. Traffic Infractions (Non-Criminal Green)If you receive a green copy of a citation, you have been charged with a traffic infraction. Please read the back of the citation for instructions. You must respond within 15 days of the date of the citation by either requesting a hearing or by paying the fine in full. After 15 days, a $52 penalty for failure to respond will be added. Unpaid balances will be sent to a collection agency and will result in the suspension of your driver’s license. If you received a PhotoSAFE infraction in the mail, instructions are included on the citation as to how to proceed with payment. Parking TicketsYou must respond to a parking ticket within 15 days of the date of issue by either requesting a hearing or by paying the fine in full. After 15 days, for failure to respond, your penalty will double. Unpaid balances will be sent to a collection agency. You will be unable to renew your vehicle license tabs until all fines are paid. |
