Passport Services

The Auburn City Clerk’s Office is pleased to provide citizens with their passport acceptance needs. Passport application acceptance hours:  9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays).

Requirements

A check (or money order) will be required made out to the US Department of State; The City’s acceptance fee is separate and can be paid by check, cash or credit card (VISA/MC).

Two (2) identical color photographs (2"x2"). Background color must be white or off-white. The applicant's image must be centered in the photo with at least 1/4 inch space between the top of the applicant's head and the top edge of the photo.

Proof of citizenship, such as certified copy of birth certificate, previously issued passport (if you have a previous passport, you must bring this with you) or certificate of naturalization. No photo copies are allowed.

Photo identification such as driver's license (not temporary nor learner's permit), government employee identification card, official military identification card, previous U.S. passport, certificate of naturalization, certificate of citizenship, and aircraft pilot's license issued by the Departmentof Transportation, FAA. Multiple forms of ID may be required.

Fees

It takes approximately four weeks to receive a passport. Expedited service is available for an additional $60.00 fee per application and takes 7 to 10 business days.
