Auburn Parks Prepares For Annual KidsDay Event at New Location

AUBURN, Wash. – June 4, 2010 - Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation is gearing up for their annual KidsDay event, to be held at Les Gove Park, 1005 12th St. SE on Friday, June 25. For the first time, this year’s event will be held at Les Gove Park. Parking is available in and around the park, with overflow parking at Grace Community Church and street parking surrounding the park.

The event, held from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., features eight inflatable rides, children’s activities, live stage entertainment, mini golf, kids’ arts & craft booths, food concessions, over 55 information/activity vendors, a food court and much more. New this year are electric go carts, bocce and trampoline fun! It’s a fantastic day of free, fun-filled activities sure to keep any child entertained. KidsDay’s primary audience is kids ages 4-11 years of age, however there are lots of activity and entertainment options to keep both our younger and older counterparts amused.

This year’s event has an exciting line-up of stage entertainment, kicked off with the highly anticipated Radio Disney’s Rockin’ Road Show, award-winning singer-songwriter Brian Vogan, Nancy Stewart and more! Nancy Stewart is presented by the King County Library System at 12:45 p.m.

Auburn’s KidsDay began in 1985 and has increased in popularity ever since. New entertainment and activities are added every year. Those visiting the KidsDay event will notice some exciting changes at Les Gove Park. It is expected that the new, state-of-the-art barrier free ‘Discovery Playground’ will open at 10 a.m. Folks will also notice the initial construction of the gymnasium, which will be located between the current Parks Office and the Senior Activity Center.

Auburn’s KidsDay 2010 is presented the City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation, Radio Disney AM 1250, Fred Meyer Stores, Wizards of the Coast and Valley Medical Center.
