AUBURN, Wash. – January 12, 2010 – Registration for winter Parks, Arts & Recreation programs is now underway. The winter Recreation Guide was delivered to homes last month and lists the diverse programs and activities offered to meet the needs of all Auburn citizens. Interested participants may register for classes and programs via Auburn@Play on-line at www.auburnwa.gov, in person at the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration building at 910 Ninth Street SE or by calling 253-931-3043. Winter options include preschool, youth, teen, and adult leisure programs; youth, teen, and adult athletics; fitness and wellness programs; and programs designed to provide social and recreational opportunities to senior citizens and those with special needs. Offerings this session include a variety of fitness options such as Fitness Boot Camp and Aikido, art classes; SCUBA lessons, and a host of preschool workshops. The Guide is also available at the Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration building, Auburn Regional Library, Auburn City Hall, and can be viewed via Auburn@Play on the City’s website www.auburnwa.gov. Additionally, the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department has numerous facilities available for rent. Whether you’re looking for space for a birthday party, a wedding or anniversary, there are plenty of options to suit your needs. Indoor meeting rooms, halls, and banquet facility hold from 40 to 200 people. All of them have at least basic kitchen facilities, restroom access and free parking. Picnic shelters, sport fields, and campsites are also available. Reservations for all facilities must be made in person at the Parks, Arts & Recreation Administration Office, 910 Ninth St SE.
