Auburn's Small Works, Big Presents: The Gift of Art exhibition and sale begins todayContact: Maija McKnight, Art Coordinator FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 16, 2010 AUBURN, Wash. – November 16, 2010 – White River Valley Museum and City of Auburn Arts Commission has announced the artists selected to participate in Small Works, Big Presents: The Gift of Art exhibition, which will be on view from Nov. 17 through Dec. 19 at the White River Valley Museum. The judges Margaret Bullock, Heather McGeachy, and Esther Luttikuizen selected 78 artworks from the 283 total submitted and selected the following 52 artists for the exhibition: Jan Allington, Louis Anderson, Will Barnes, Rocky Barrick, Gary Steele Bennett, Lea Bishop, Jessica Boyle, Charles F. Bryant, Cal Capener, Teri Capp, Monique Catino, Debra Cepeda, Michael Dilbeck, Barbara Freeman, Jani Freiman, Victor Fuentes, Diane Frechin Gardner*, Alina Gridley, Betty Hageman, Sandie Hawkins, Mirka Hokkanen*, John H. Hughey, Sue Jackson-Andre, Linda Jacobus, Joey Katzer*, Zachary Kolden, Kate Lynch, Michael Meday, Carla Michaelis, Kent Miller, Nataliya Mirgorodskiy, Barbara B. Newton, Peggy O'Heron, Jim Oliver, Janie Olsen, Kristi Orcutt, Brian James Reno, Debra Rexroat, Jennifer Hartman Rive't, Patricia Rogers, Marina Shats, Eric Shellgren, Doug Sims*, Gerry Sperry, Lydia Strange*, Ken Strange, Frances Tanner, Caryl Utigard, Carolyn Vanosdol, Teresa Vaughn, K. The inspiration for this exhibition is to provide a unique opportunity for regional artists, while being able to offer fine art at affordable prices during the holiday season. Artists working in a wide variety of media are represented, including photography, painting, printing, and collage. All entries were limited by size (20” x 20”). ABOUT THE EXHIBIT Preview Opening and Awards Ceremony is on Tuesday, November 16, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. and the exhibit is on view November 17 – December 19, 2010. Sale of the artwork will be available throughout the exhibition of which 25% of the proceeds benefit the White River Valley Museum. # # # City of Auburn White River Valley Museum |
