City of Auburn 2011 Christmas Tree Recycling

AUBURN, Wash. – December 20, 2010 - Residents who live within the city limits of Auburn and have Waste Management or Allied Waste Services for garbage service can recycle their Christmas trees and organic wreaths for no additional cost.

Murrey’s Disposal customers who live within the city limits of Auburn and who have yard waste service may place their Christmas tree into their yard waste cart at no additional cost. If you live outside of the Auburn city limits, contact your garbage and recycling hauler for Christmas tree recycling information.

PICK-UP DATES & GUIDELINES

Waste Management:

Single-family, duplex and mobile home park residents

Pick up will be the week of January 3–7, 2011, on your garbage day

Set your trees on the curbside by 7 a.m.

Multifamily residents

Pick up will be the weeks of January 3 – 7 & 10 – 14, 2011

Property Owner or Site Manager must call Waste Management, 800-592-9995, to schedule a pickup day and pickup site

Allied Waste Services:

Single-family and duplex residents

Pick up will be the week of January 3 - 7, 2011, on your garbage collection day

Set your trees on the curbside by 6 a.m.

Multifamily residents

Pick up will be the week of January 3 – 7, 2011

Property Owner or Site Manager must call Allied Waste Services, 206-682-9735, to schedule a pickup day and pickup site

Murrey’s Disposal:

All customers

During the month of January 2011 on your yard waste collection day.

Place tree, cut into 3-foot pieces, into your yard waste cart by 6 a.m. must have yard waste service to participate. Contact Murrey’s Disposal at 253-414-0345 for details. Residents who do not have yard waste service can participate for a fee.

GUIDELINES

Waste Management and Allied Waste:

Tree trunks should be no wider than 4” in diameter and must be cut into 3-foot lengths and weigh no more than 65 lbs. each piece.

Please remove all garland, tinsel and ornaments; No flocked trees or other debris will be accepted; Limit 1 tree per household.
