AUBURN, Wash. - September 7, 2010 - The deliciously funny one-woman musical comedy show, Chocolate Confessions, will open the 2010-2011 City of Auburn BRAVO performing arts season on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Auburn Avenue Theater. A special chocolate reception provided by Gosanko Chocolate Art will be hosted prior to the show at 6:30 p.m.

The show follows the antics of chocolate shop owner Coco Bliss, and her mixed assortment of hilarious customers. Each patron has a passion for chocolate and a deep, dark secret to share through song. Over a dozen characters are portrayed in this musical comedy, along with uproarious vignettes, such as the shocking origins of M&M’s and the amazing story behind the chocolate chip cookie.

Chocolate Confessions has played to rave reviews in over 25 cities across the country, including an extended run at the Portland Art Museum’s Commandery Theater, where it was held over by popular demand for 21 weeks. The show has been featured as entertainment in fundraisers, festivals, and special events ranging from theaters in Washington to conventions in California, and from cabaret clubs in New York to concert halls in North Carolina.

The show is created and performed by Portland actress Joan Freed, who has lent her comedic and musical talents to productions throughout the Northwest, including her year-long appearance as the Iowa Housewife in the Portland production of Menopause the Musical. Last year she portrayed the lascivious octogenarian Hold Me Touch Me in The Producers, and was most recently seen in the Lakewood Theater production of Gypsy.

The City of Auburn BRAVO Performing Arts Series includes music, dance, and theater performances for all ages throughout the year. We invite you to share all these magnificent moments on stage where extraordinary things come to life, making Auburn's BRAVO Season More Than You Imagined!
