Jump into Fun with the Auburn Senior Activity Center

Summer Senior Activity Guide now available

AUBURN, Wash. - July 6, 2010 - The Senior Activity Center brochure is now available at the Senior Activity Center and lists the diverse programs and activities offered to meet the needs of all Auburn seniors. Registration is now open for programs, classes and events offered in July and August.

Interested participants may register via Auburn@Play online at www.auburnwa.gov, in person at the Auburn Senior Activity Center at 808 Ninth Street SE or by calling 253-931-3016.

The Center offers an abundance of recreational opportunities. Programs include hiking and nature walks, sea kayaking, dance and exercise classes, travel options, golf and drop-in play in the pool room.

The Senior Activity Center hosts a variety of special events and luncheon celebrations. July begins our summer BBQ’s on the patio the second Wednesday of the month, there is a daily lunch program, a monthly food pantry and supper club, and a monthly coffee hour with the Mayor and Auburn City Councilmembers.

Educational and learning opportunities are offered through book club, computer classes, driver’s safety, Spanish classes, and art and creative writing classes. A variety of health and wellness programs are offered each session, including foot care, blood pressure clinics, and massage. On-going social time at the center includes games such as Mah Jongg, Scrabble, Bingo, Dominoes, Pinochle, Contract Bridge, and puzzles as well as a coffee bar and movie days.
