AUBURN, Wash. – October 11, 2010 – This month, the City of Auburn and King County Metro Transit announced a partnership that provides a new route that operates between north and southwest Auburn via Auburn Station. It will operate hourly on weekdays from about 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and on Saturday from about 8:25 a.m. to 5:13 p.m. Route 919, loosely called Auburn’s Shopper Shuttle, began operation on Oct. 2.

The new route provides service from North Auburn to the North Auburn Business area near Fred Meyer, Lowe’s, the Auburn Court, and downtown Auburn’s medical and shopping areas then heads southwest to the SuperMall and YMCA.

On weekdays, this route will also serve the Auburn Senior Activity Center with fixed-route service southbound, replacing a former Dial-a-Ride Transit (DART) service area Saturday service, when the Auburn Senior Activity Center is closed and will continue to operate via Auburn Way S.

The DART service area in north Auburn will be discontinued, as the new Route 910 provides fixed route service in that area.

Bus riders should check Metro’s fall schedules at http://metro.kingcounty.gov/ for the routes and most up-to-date schedules.
