AUBURN, Wash. – October 19, 2010 - The City of Auburn, in cooperation with King County, now has sand and sandbags available to the public in preparation for the upcoming winter storm season. The sandbag site is located at Les Gove Community Campus, 1005 12th St. SE in Auburn.
Sand is available immediately for pickup during daylight hours every day (Sunday - Saturday), residents must provide their own bags which can be provided by the City during normal business hours by calling 253-876-1925. Please allow 24 hours for pickup times to be arranged.
Beginning Oct. 30 through Nov. 20, empty sandbags and volunteers will be available on-site on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will be on-hand to help fill and load bags. Each customer will be limited to 30 filled bags per trip (approximately one half ton).
Individuals needing assistance picking up bags and those interested in volunteering to fill or deliver sandbags for the public should contact Auburn Emergency Management to schedule a time.
