AUBURN, Wash. - April 9, 2010 - The amazing aerialists, acrobats and dancers of the Cabiri troupe will debut their brand new performance, Carpathian Dawn, for one-night only on Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Auburn Performing Arts Center as the final performance of the City of Auburn's BRAVO season.
The Cabiri performance troupe is a Seattle-based ensemble specializing in storytelling through trapeze, aerial dance, stiltwalking, fire performance. They are devoted to exploring the mysteries and tales of long-lost cultures from all around the world and depict ancient myths and legends using music, aerial arts, and a little sprinkling of magic fairy dust.
In this brand-new production that was created specifically for Auburn audiences, fly away with 15 dancers and aerialists to discover the timeless tales and myths of ancient Slavic folklore. Featuring choreography by Sam Alvarez, Catherine Cabeen, and Jill Leversee, this full-length production will excite and amaze audiences.
The development of Carpathian Dawn is partially supported with funding from 4Culture of King County, and The National Endowment for the Arts American Recovery Act Funds.
