Auburn Community Players announce auditions for “The Wizard of Oz”

WHAT: Auburn Community Players auditions for The Wizard of Oz
WHEN: Saturday, July 16, 11 a.m. – 4p.m.
WHERE: Children’s Dance Theater 122 W Main St. Auburn, WA 98001
WHO: Any Person 14+ years of age
OTHER: Bring a head shot/picture, musical theater song and 1-2 minute monologue. Bring sheet music in correct key, accompanist is provided. Kids 6 – 14 can sign up for The Wizard of Oz Youth Theater Workshop to be a Munchkin or Jitter Bug. Contact Auburn Parks Arts & Rec at 253-931-3043 for more information.

AUBURN, Wash. - June 29, 2011 - The Auburn Community Players would like to announce auditions for their third production, The Wizard of Oz. Auditions will be held Saturday, July 16 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Children’s Dance Theater located at 122 W Main St. Those wishing to audition for the show please call 253-833-5678 or email jkleinbeck@auburnwa.gov to set up an audition time.

Those that are auditioning should come prepared with a head shot picture, prepare a song from musical theater (with sheet music in correct key) and a one to two-minute monologue. An accompanist is provided. CD accompaniment can also be accomodated.

The Auburn Community Players present this charming musical based on the popular L. Frank Baum stories, Dorothy and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado's path and somehow end up in the Land of Oz Here she meets some memorable friends and foes in her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz who everyone says can help her return home and possibly grant her new friends their goals of a brain, heart and courage.

The show will take place at the Auburn Ave Theater on October 14-16, and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and October 21 & 22 at 2 p.m. For any questions regarding the Auburn Community Players or the Auburn Ave Theater please contact Jim Kleinbeck at 253-804-5057.
