Auburn’s Summer Sounds & Cinema Announces Event Line-Up and Series Sponsor MultiCare

Family-friendly outdoor entertainment and blockbuster movies planned for this summer!

AUBURN, Wash. – March 30, 2011 - The Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department, along with MultiCare is excited to announce the Summer Sounds & Cinema Series 2011 line-up. The combination of entertainment and movies will ensure Friday nights in Auburn are blockbuster evenings.

“We are thankful that MultiCare has come forward to support this outstanding outdoor entertainment series for our citizens,” says Parks, Arts & Recreation Director, Daryl Faber.

“We enjoy providing this outdoor concert and movie series,” explains Faber. “It gives Auburn residents the opportunity to meet their friends and neighbors for an unforgettable experience. The free event series has proven to be a family favorite and blends in with our family-approved programming.”

The series kicks off at Sunset Park on Friday, Aug. 5 with entertainment provided by One Eyed Jack and a screening of How To Train Your Dragon (PG). Food concessions, operated by Auburn’s Youth Council, will be available at the events for a nominal fee. Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic blankets for a refreshing evening under the stars!

Be sure to enjoy the entire August line-up of outdoor entertainment and movies on the following dates:

(Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. with the movies following at dusk.)

Friday, Aug. 5
Sunset Park, 1306 – 69th Street SE, Lakeland Hills
Concert: The classic rock sound of One Eyed Jack
Movie: How To Train Your Dragon (PG)

Friday, Aug. 12
Les Gove Park, 910 Ninth Street SE
Concert: The talented and widely popular A-Cappella group, The Coats
Movie: Big (PG)

Friday, Aug. 19
Les Gove Park, 910 Ninth Street SE
Concert: The unique sound of Shyanne
Movie: Megamind (PG)

Sponsorship packages are still available for this series and other special events. Packages can be customized to fit the needs and budget of various businesses and sponsors.
