City Employees Raise over $26,000 to Support Auburn CharitiesFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 7, 2011
AUBURN, Wash. – January 7, 2011 - The annual City of Auburn Employee Giving Campaign raised $26,105.20 in total donations for area charities. This year the committee chose to support the Auburn Food Bank, United Way of King and Pierce County, Coalition for Charitable Choice, Auburn Pregnancy Aid and Communities in Schools of Auburn.
The two-tiered effort included a pledge campaign during the month of November that earned $17,042 that will go toward the Auburn Food Bank, United Way of King County, United Way of Pierce County, and Coalition for Charitable Choice and separate department fundraising activities and an employee silent auction that garnered $9,063.20 to be split equally between Auburn Pregnancy Aid and Communities in Schools of Auburn.
“Our employees worked very hard to make the silent auction a huge success! Our goal was $25,000 and with the pledge campaign we surpassed that,” said committee chairperson Toni Lindstrom. “Everyone that participated should be very proud.”
The annual employee giving campaign is a fundraising effort that supports local, non-profit organizations. The objective of the campaign is to bring city employees together to obtain funding for local non-profit agencies.
