AUBURN, Wash. - May 31, 2011 - Here is one Comedy Show not to miss! Two headliners for the price of one! The Comedy at the Ave Fathers Day Comedy Spectacular, featuring two great fathers, Brad Upton and Kermet Apio on June 18 at 7:30 p.m. Come and here stories of fatherhood that will have you laughing so hard you’ll cry!

Brad Upton in a past winner of the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and appeared recently at Caesar's Palace as part of the HBO Comedy Festival. Twenty-six years and 5000 shows have made this Seattle based comic a much sought after performer and earned the respect of his peers. The Seattle Times said, "Brad Upton has mastered the nearly impossible task of appealing to people from the ages of 18 to 80." His ease and likability on stage have made him very popular with corporate clients and the cruise ship industry where he is a headline performer for several of the major lines.

Brad has headlined nearly every comedy club from Anchorage to Miami but these appearances are becoming increasingly rare because of his busy schedule. Brad has made numerous television appearances and was heard around the nation for several years as a regular guest on National Public Radio's "REWIND" program. Brad and his wife of 23-years have a 16-year old son and 13-year old daughter....they live in a cul-de-sac.

Kermet Apio was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii where he enjoyed a childhood in paradise. He spent his time watching television, playing, and procrastinating everything else and to this day, he still does all three extensively. After graduating, Kermet moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington making the area his new home. In 1989, Kermet did his first open mike night at Seattle’s Comedy Underground, discovering that comedy was indeed a fun hobby.

In May of 1990, he quit his job, said good bye to health care, and took the leap to performing full time. It’s still his only job skill. Kermet was the winner of the 2009 Great American Comedy Festival and has had numerous appearances on television and radio. He has showcased at comedy festivals in Aspen, Las Vegas, and Vancouver and has performed in 47 states and 3 Canadian provinces. He is a past winner of the Seattle Comedy Competition and was a semi-finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition. Kermet is married and the proud father of two wonderful children.

The City of Auburn Performing Arts Series includes music, dance, and theater performances for all ages throughout the year. We invite you to share all these magnificent moments on stage where extraordinary things come to life, making Auburn More Than You Imagined!
