Garbage Collection in Auburn May Be Delayed Due to Weather

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 24, 2011

AUBURN, Wash. – February 24, 2011 – Due to the weather and road conditions, solid waste collection may be delayed or canceled depending on your waste hauler. The solid waste haulers in Auburn are committed to providing reliable collection for all customers. However, in the event that circumstances such as unsafe roads interfere with service schedules, we appreciate customer understanding and cooperation.

Waste Management

Residential customers: Collection in the flat areas is starting two hours late. Waste Management will attempt to collect Lakeland Hills and Riverwalk customers later today if conditions allow. If containers are not emptied by the end of the day, please remove them from the street. Residential customers who are not collected today may put out twice the regular amount of garbage and yard waste on Thursday, March 3, 2011. Recycle is collected every other week, so the missed recycle will be collected in two weeks, on Thursday, March 10, 2011.

No credit is given for delayed residential collection due to weather conditions, but up to twice the regular amount is accepted at no charge to compensate for the missed collection.

Commercial customers (businesses and multi-family): Waste Management will collect from commercial locations as soon as conditions allow.
