Laugh out loud at Comedy at the Ave with headliner Mike E. Winfield on May 13Contact: Jim Kleinbeck, Theater Operations Coordinator WHAT: Auburn Avenue Theater presents Comedy at the AVE AUBURN, Wash. - May 2, 2011 - Who cares if there’s a chance of sun in Auburn?! Take in a good laugh with Comedy at the AVE’s May’s headlining comedian Mike E. Winfield Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Auburn Avenue Theater. Mike E. (not Mikey, only Mom can call him Mikey), grew up in the inner city of Baltimore, MD where he also garnered the confidence to get up in front of large groups. He discovered his knack for humor, unintentionally, in a college speech class where, even though there was nothing humorous written within his speeches, he somehow seemed to entertain everyone. From there, Mike E. would hit the local open mic nights and his career would explode from there. Mike E. has earned appearances on such shows as Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, BET’s Comicview, and most recently The Late Show with David Letterman. Despite a tough road, this young comedian keeps his act surprisingly clean and admits his audiences can’t help but smile when they see him. Comedy at the Ave is a monthly comedy series that takes place at the Auburn Avenue Theater. Three comedians, one night, where you’re guaranteed to hear something you like. The City of Auburn Performing Arts Series includes music, dance, and theater performances for all ages throughout the year. We invite you to share all these magnificent moments on stage where extraordinary things come to life, making Auburn More Than You Imagined!
