Pick-Quick Drive In No. 2 Sign Lights Up the Auburn Sky
AUBURN, Wash. – March 3, 2011 – The glowing neon sign of PICK-QUICK Drive In No. 2 will soon be accompanied by the unmistakable aroma of locally sourced natural beef burgers and fresh potato fries when it opens in Auburn, Wash. on Tuesday, March 8 at 10:30 AM. To celebrate the grand opening, the first 49 guests (in honor of its 1949 inception) will receive reusable cold drink tumblers emblazoned with the iconic PICK-QUICK logo. The quick-service restaurant is located at 1132 Auburn Way N and features 28 dining room and seven indoor bar seats, a drive-thru window and an additional 44 picnic table seats and eight children's picnic table seats outdoors for guests to enjoy during warm-weather months. "We are honored to have the opportunity to introduce Auburn to the quick-service dining experience people have been enjoying in Fife since 1949," said Gerard Centioli, president and CEO of PICK-QUICK Development Company LLC. "Our burgers are made with 100% natural beef, our fries are cut from fresh Russet potatoes throughout the day, and our milkshakes are made with 100% natural ice cream.” The beef for PICK-QUICK Drive In No. 2's burgers comes from Western Washington cattle which are grass-fed and never, ever exposed to antibiotics or hormones. The ice cream for milkshakes, cones, floats and sundaes is The Cold Standard® from Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream, made with 100% natural ingredients. Other ingredients, ranging from potatoes and tomatoes to pickles and cheese, are sourced from local companies that share PICK-QUICK's mission to care for each other and the earth, one meal at a time. PICK-QUICK Drive In No. 2's commitment to local, natural and sustainable goes beyond the quality of ingredients. The building will be LEED Certified, and the interior of the restaurant features glass windows where diners can view the production of every item served in the restaurant. In addition, the chairs in the restaurant are each made from 111 recycled plastic Coca-Cola bottles. The parking lot and walkways outside of the restaurant are made with pervious concrete, which allows for rain water to be collected in a rain garden and used to water the landscape. The water from the hand sinks is filtered, collected in the rain garden and used to water the landscape. In addition, the parking lot will feature two spaces reserved exclusively for hybrid fuel-efficient cars. "Everyone gets a craving for a burger, fries and shake on occasion, and with the opening of PICK-QUICK Drive In No. 2, diners can now indulge those cravings in Auburn knowing that they are putting wholesome ingredients into their bodies," said Centioli.
