Register Now for Auburn’s Youth Classes

AUBURN, Wash. – March 30, 2011 – The Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation department is pleased to announce classes for youth and teens this spring covering topics such as etiquette and manners and great dance series from ballet to hip hop. Register now for any of these spring offerings. Most classes begin in April.

Calling all princes and princesses ages 4-6 to learn the secrets of living like royalty as you practice kindness and respect for all those you meet. Wear your royal clothing and bring your favorite cup and saucer for a Royal Tea. You will practice meeting and greeting others, how to handle a napkin, eat cookie, drink lemonade and join in table talk. Don’t forget your royal escort, parents must accompany child on Saturday, April 30, 1-2 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building. The class fee is $35 for residents/$44 for non-residents. Fee is for both parent and child.

The Young Ladies And Gentlemen class for children ages 6-11 is a fun hands-on manners workshop teaches telephone etiquette, basic table manners, introductions, personal care and posture. Each student receives a goodie bag to take home. Class is on Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.-m. – 12 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building. Fee is $35 for residents/$44 for non-residents.

Be sure to enter our fantasy ballet class where little ones ages 3-5 will experience the pure joy and enchantment of being a Swan Princess, Sugar Plum Fairy or anything else a ballerina could dream or imagine. Proper dance wear is recommended. Class meets Thursdays, April 21-June 9 from 4-5 p.m. at the Les Gove Park Building. The class fee is $72 for residents/$90 for non-residents.

The Kids Pop Dance class is for children ages 6-9 to come get your feet movin’ and your body groovin’ and have fun dancing to today’s pop music. Learn some hip hop, jazz and more on Thursdays, April 21-June 9, 5:15-6:15 p.m. at the Les Gove Park Building. The class fee is $72 for residents/$90 non-residents.
